Raw Cow's Milk

Our dairy cows are the queens of the farm! We have jersey and holstien breeds. They are all grass fed, except for their special treat during their morning milkings. We use a milking machine to ensure the cleanest possible milk. It is then filtered and placed in the fridge within 45 minutes of milking.

Here at Green Meadows Farm we calf share. This means the calfs get to stay with their momma cow for 6 to 8 months. The calfs get all the colostrum first and once the regular milk comes in, we begin morning milkings. After about 2 months, we do separate the calfs only at night and then they are reunited with their momma cow after the morning milking. This is the kindest approach to milking and raising dairy cows and calfs. We take what we need, but allow the calfs to get all the milk they need to grow healthy and strong. The momma cows and calfs are happy and so are us farmers!
